Open the deckWhat's in the deck
Momentum is a coaching and therapy deck for the everyday side of professional life. Each card is a small editorial scene: a closed laptop on the dinner table, a worn workbench under a single lamp, a half-packed weekend bag, a budget envelope, a long staircase paused halfway up. The visual language is contemporary editorial illustration, light and matter-of-fact, with traces of real work life rather than corporate stock polish. Eight tracks cover energy, calling, money, boundaries, achievement, recovery, learning, and integration. The deck does not glorify hustle and does not preach rest. It gives you and your client a vocabulary for the resources that are present, the resources that are blocked, and the price of holding the role you hold today.
Groups
Energy
Body, sleep, load, rhythm. Where the strength is, and where it has already run out.
Calling
Role, mastery, identity, usefulness. What in the work is yours, and what is someone else's script.
Money
Enoughness, debt, shame, generosity, price. Money as a material sign, not a success symbol.
Boundaries
Asking, refusing, negotiating. Time and power inside work relationships.
Achievement
Goals, metrics, recognition, plateau, the price of winning. What to count as a real success.
Recovery
Rest without guilt, pause, body, time off. The return of strength that does not come by itself.
Learning
Skill, mentorship, community, reskilling. You can learn again, at any age.
Integration
Work plus family, health, meaning. A mature balance without heroics.
Techniques where this deck fits
These are the self-reflection techniques in our Self-Work Navigator that work well with this deck:
When to pick
Working with burnout
The Energy, Recovery, and Integration tracks let a client name where the load is, where the body is, and where rest is allowed back in.
Career and identity sessions
Calling and Achievement carry questions about role, mastery, recognition, and the price of staying in this work.
Money work
The Money track holds debt, enoughness, generosity, and shame without moralizing about spending.
Coaching on boundaries and power
Boundaries is built for asking, refusing, and the visible distance between people in meetings.
When this isn't the right deck
Momentum is built for adult professional life. It is not for child-emotional work, deep trauma processing, or relationship-only questions. If the topic is a couple, pick Between Us. If it is a turning point outside work, pick Crosspoint. If the client is in acute financial or psychiatric crisis, refer to a specialist; this is a supportive visual tool, not a replacement for professional help. Not tarot, not an oracle, not a motivational poster. The card does not predict whether the next move will succeed; it gives you a frame to look at what is actually here.

About metaphorical associative cards (MAC)
Metaphorical associative cards (MAC) are a projective tool used in self-reflection, coaching and therapy. Unlike tarot or oracle cards, they don't predict anything – the image becomes a mirror for what is already happening inside you.
You can work with MAC cards alone in a quiet 5-minute session, with a therapist, or in a group. The card is not the answer; it is a frame for asking yourself a more honest question.
On MAC Cards Online, every public deck is free to try in your browser – no installation, no registration. The platform also has Self-Work Navigator with 8 guided techniques that walk you through a session step by step.
