Rooms and Shared Canvas

A room is the visual environment of the table (background and boundaries). It defines whether the workspace is infinite or bounded. All participants in the session see the same room and the same shared canvas.

What it is

Core elements

  • Room: the background and rules of the workspace.
  • Shared canvas: one space where everyone works together.
  • Room types: the group table (unbounded) and self-reflection rooms (bounded).

How it works

  • The host selects a room and all participants see the change.
  • Bounded rooms have a visible frame, and items stay inside it.
  • When switching rooms, objects adapt to the new boundaries.

How to use

Key steps

  1. Open the settings panel and switch to the "Room" tab.
  2. Choose a room using the thumbnail and description.
  3. Continue working on the shared canvas - changes sync for everyone.

Scenarios

  • Group work: use the infinite group table for large layouts.
  • Focused practice: choose a bounded room to keep attention inside the frame.
  • Different stages: switch rooms to change the mood of the exercise.

If the host loses connection

A dropped Wi-Fi or a closed tab does not end the session immediately. We hold the room open for up to five minutes so the host can rejoin without losing the layout. Guests stay in the room while the timer runs; the canvas is read-only until the host is back. If five minutes pass without the host returning, the session closes and guests are sent home with a notice.

If you are the host and you know you have to step away, just close the tab – the guests will see a "host is back soon" badge and your cards stay in place. To end the session for real, use End session from the menu instead.

Saving sessions

Users with a Premium subscription or a PRO badge can save sessions to continue working later.

How to save a session

  1. Click the save button in the session panel.
  2. The session is saved with every object on the table: cards, notes, tokens, dice, collectible items.
  3. Saved sessions appear in the "Saved sessions" list in the side panel.

Slot limits

  • Premium: up to 20 saved sessions.
  • PRO: up to 5 saved sessions.
  • Without a subscription, the save feature is unavailable.

Restoring a session

  1. Open the saved sessions list in the side panel.
  2. Pick a session to restore.
  3. The table loads in exactly the state it was saved in.
  4. The participant list will be empty after a restore – participants reconnect anew.

Managing saved sessions

  • You can revert a save at any time – the slot frees up.
  • Saved sessions are stored indefinitely.
  • State is auto-synced every 60 seconds.

Tips and errors

  • If switching is disabled, you are not the host.
  • After a room change, cards may shift - the system keeps them inside the bounds.
  • In bounded rooms, zoom out to keep the full frame in view.
  • Session saving requires authentication and a Premium or PRO status.
