Board Items and Notes
Board items are additional objects that help structure your work. Right now, the first available item is notes. More items will be added later.
What it is
Notes as the first item
- Note: a sticky note on the canvas for ideas, insights, and comments.
- Note color: helps group thoughts and scenarios.
- Visibility mode: defines who can see the note and its author.
Note visibility modes
- Private: visible only to the author and not synced.
- Public: visible to everyone, author is shown on hover.
- Anonymous: visible to everyone, author is shown only to the host.
Other items
- Future versions will add chips, dice, and other tabletop items.
How to use
Key steps
- Open the "Items" tab and pick a note color.
- Click on the canvas - a note appears in the center of the visible canvas area.
- Type directly inside the note (in-place editing).
- Move the note by dragging it to the desired position.
- Change visibility in the note menu if needed.
- To delete a note, drag it to the trash zone that appears at the edge of the screen.
Note placement
Notes appear in the center of your current view, not at the cursor position. After creating a note, drag it to where you want it on the canvas.
Editing notes
Notes support in-place text editing:
- Click on the note to select it.
- Click inside the text area to start editing.
- Type or modify the text directly.
- Click outside the note to finish editing.
Deleting notes
To remove a note from the canvas:
- Click and hold the note to start dragging.
- A trash zone will appear at the edge of the screen.
- Drag the note to the trash zone.
- Release to delete the note.
Deletion is permanent
Deleted notes cannot be recovered. Make sure you don't need the content before deleting.
Scenarios
- Capture insights: add notes next to key cards.
- Group work: use public notes for shared discussion.
- Anonymous input: collect ideas without revealing authors.
- Clean up: drag unwanted notes to the trash zone to remove them.
Tips and errors
- Private notes are not visible to others - use public notes when collaboration is needed.
- With many notes, use colors to keep the board readable.
- Notes are not saved when you switch sessions - take a screenshot if you need to keep the result.
- Notes appear in the center of your view - pan the canvas first if you want them in a specific area.
